STEM For Kids, the global leader in hands-on STEM education, marks its 14th anniversary today, reflecting on a journey that began with its first STEM classes in January 2012 and has grown into a mission-driven movement that has impacted millions of children worldwide. Founded in 2011 by Moni Singh, the organization reaffirms its unchanging "Why": protecting and channeling children's natural curiosity—the blueprint for future innovations and creative problem-solving—through empowered caregivers and educators who make STEM fun and real.

From its Raleigh roots, STEM For Kids has evolved alongside two generations of kids. The early programs served Gen Z children (born 1997-2012), many of whom were elementary-aged when the first camps launched. These kids, inspired by playful engineering challenges like building structures to withstand "earthquakes," developed intrinsic problem-solving skills that propelled them forward. Today, Gen Z alumni are pursuing STEM careers at top universities, with data showing 98% of participants had fun with STEM in our programs and 90% of their parents recommend STEM for Kids for early STEM exposure noting significant positive influence on their children’s academic/career paths.
