Supercharge STEM Learning For Your Students
LYONS, GA and RALEIGH, NC, June 9, 2026
STEM For Kids® and Little Folks Farm and Childcare are proud to announce the inspiring results of their recent STEM education pilot program. By integrating the STEM For Kids Root Protocol™ curriculum into a farm- and nature-based early childhood environment, the partnership has successfully demonstrated a unique, powerful synergy: connecting the literal roots of nature with the educational foundations of hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math.
This initiative builds directly on a wave of recent successes across the region, matching the highly positive impact, boosted student confidence, and deep parental engagement recently reported in similar pilots with educational providers like Operation Xcel, YaYa Yuniversity, and Little Lonestar Academy.
The pilot at Little Folks Farm and Childcare beautifully bridged classic, nature-focused teaching with active, cooperative engineering. Instead of passive screen time or rigid memorization, young learners engaged in tactile, real-world problem solving —discovering how things grow, how structures are built, and how systems function together. Through these interactive challenges, students learned to collaborate effectively to see complex projects through to completion.
"The children grew an appreciation of learning to work together to make a project complete,” said Lisa Davis of Little Folks Farm and Childcare. “They were also proud of their accomplishments. It was very interesting and each child got involved, eager to get to class the next day to learn more.”
The impact of this nature-plus-STEM approach extended well beyond the classroom walls, striking a deep chord with families. Parents reported that their children routinely brought the excitement home, describing how their projects worked and demonstrating an unexpected depth of understanding for their age group.
“Feedback from the parents was extremely positive as well,” Davis added. “One parent said that they didn’t know their child was old enough to understand, but was glad that we were introducing them to STEM projects so young. I would 100% recommend adding STEM to any curriculum lineup. It is well worth the time and effort because the kids were ready to do more and loved the final outcome.”
The turnkey, "ready-to-go" nature of the STEM For Kids activity plans and training makes it seamless for early childhood educators—even those operating in outdoor, non-traditional, or farm-based settings—to confidently guide children through foundational concepts. This organic connection keeps children's natural curiosity alive before the creative decline often seen in early elementary years.
To help daycares, farm schools, and out-of-school time providers replicate these exact results and combat the childhood "Curiosity Crisis," STEM For Kids is currently offering a free trial of its comprehensive implementation package.
